BUNRAKU VIDS

I've been interested in the Japanese originated puppeteering style called Bunraku off and on, and recently resumed my research into the art style and came across two vids that I wanted to share with you. So here they are:

BUNRAKU - CLASSICAL PUPPET ART - SCREENER

(via artfilms07)

A video from Puppets of Melbourne revealing a small glimpse into the build of a Bunraku puppet. You can also find the artists step by step build process photos here at flickr.

And the pamphlet mentioned here can be found here for free which is a brilliant albeit brief look into the history and building of Bunraku puppets.
