Fake Glass Debris - The Soft Kind

Sugar glass is one great way of creating fake glass, however, it can get danegrous as fragmented pieces can get sharp and pointy.  The alternative could be to buy a jar of Smooth On's Rubber Glass II which can get pricey for some. 

So what is a prop maker to do?  Wesley Scoggins from Indy Mogul's Weekly How-To has a cool idea for the low budget way of making soft fake glass using hot glue.  Go here to find out how.

Terra's Lair

This morning I stumbled upon a great and resourceful Youtube channel for any prop maker, set designer, or home haunter showcasing a treasure trove of tutorials and behind-the-scenes of some of the sets/props that a woman named Terra has made for her own home haunts called Terra's Lair.

Inspiration: Peter McKinstry

You may not know the name but you certainly know and have seen his work.  Concept design and illustrator artist Peter McKinstry has created brilliantly awe inspiring concept art for films such as Harry Potter: The Half Blood Prince to the current Doctor Who series from season 2 through 5 and it's spin-off Torchwood. 

McKinstry has recently started a website showcasing his concept art designs for the Doctor Who series as well as the Harry Potter films and more.  Go here to be amazed and inspired. 

Also take note at some of the differences a movie or TV show goes from a design to what appears on screen.
