A Phonograph Player: A Work in Progress

I am days late in mentioning this, but here is a cool project that MRX Designs is working on.  It's a replication of a wax cylinder and phonograph player using relatively cheap materials.  The perfect thing for anyone in need to add something more unique in their next film, home haunt, or even a live-action RPG.

PRO SCORES IS HERE!

If you are like me and you lack any musical talent and yet need to have a fantastic score for your film project then do I have the link for you; Video Co-Pilot released Pro Scores which contains over 500 sound elements.

The best part, it's all royaltyl free. You can drag and drop these brilliant scores into any flick you want and not have to pay another dime beyond the cost of the product. How awesome is that?

MOBY DONATES MUSIC TO INDIE FILMMAKERS

Here is a bit of groovy news for all of you indie filmmakers out there in need of some professional music choices for your next project. Moby has made 79 tracks, most unreleased, available to all of us indie underground guys. The tracks can be used in any non-commercial project including feature length or short.

However those seeking serious distro for profit can for a modest fee use the tracks. The fee goes to charity so it's all good in the hood. Full details and free sign up is here. (via Cinematical.com)

This is great news. Now only if more artists such as Moby could get behind the same idea.

NEVER FORGET THE SOUND

Here is a great mini-featurette from filmmaker Peter Jon Ross concerning M&E Mix for his latest film HORRORS OF WAR. It just showcases how important sound is to a flick. For more details check out his website at www.sonnyboo.com.
