I recently did a recent search for Rob Schrab's invented Drawless Animation technique and discovered that in recent months people have got the urge to try it on their own. Here are some nifty examples:

My DVR skipped last week's SARAH SILVERMAN SHOW for the sake of other Halloween goodies, which is a damn shame considering that I missed out on some more of Rob Schrab's cool drawless animation technique. A technique which I plan on using on a upcoming project for those taking notes.

Anyway check out this nifty behind the scenes clip of the show which reveals some more of Schrab's drawless puppet and tricks on a much grander scale. Check it out :

YET ANOTHER PUPPET MAKING TUTORIAL IN DRAWLESS ANIMATION STYLE

This is a fantastic and humorous, puppet making tutorial, and although it's not stated as Drawless Animation, I still feel that it shares the same ideas in the sense that bits of cheap junk can be made into something all kinds of awesome.

As you may recall I am a huge fan of Rob Schrab, especially his method of animating which he has named drawless animation. Well here is a four minute Indy Mogul film school on that style hosted by Schrab himself.

RINGWALD AND MOLLY

Last week I mentioned the four-minute film school that comic artist/filmmaker Rob Schrab taught which concerned his style of puppetry called "Drawless Animation".

Inside that film school was a glimpse of the Ringwald and Molly puppets that he used for the RINGWALD AND MOLLY show which had a run of a few episodes. These episodes were originally made for Channel 101, but like most great shows on the site it was later voted out or what they call being canceled.

Today I thought that I would post some episodes that I found on Youtube to give you a better idea of how cool Rob Schrab's chosen style of puppetry can be and how you too can do the same thing on quite an inexpensive budget. Be sure to buy the DVD if you get a chance.

I do feel that I should warn some of you that some episodes do have certain themes that could be considered NSFW but only by squares. Dig it!

ANOTHER SNEAK PEEK: THE MUMMY

Here is another sneak peek at the second puppet that I created for the music vid/short film that I'm working on:

The body itself is a paper towel tube which had a mouth piece cut out and another tube inserted inside for the teeth. It is able to move its mouth up and down by use of a string that I pull on and a rubber band inside pulls the mouth back upward to it's original position.

The bandages was a tea-dyed cloth that I cut into strips and the head itself is constructed mostly from paper clay which I am still not sold on using the material ever again yet.
